Queering Sports

I never tell people I’m queer the first time we meet. And never before have I had a class where that’s the topic for the whole day. It was nice to talk about it and I felt fully comfortable talking about it. Having class in an empty gym was definitely a more relaxed environment than of a cage of a classroom.

I felt more relaxed this day, compared to the first two classes. I got to engage on a more personal level with my classmates. The ice breaker games gets less and less exciting. As a social work student, I’ve lost count of the amount of times I’ve done these icebreakers the past few years.
They do break the ice, though.

I got asked what being queer means to me. Being queer means being able to love whoever I want and being able to be myself.
